Prices: how we quote

Every job is different, so we quote each one individually, in writing.

Why we quote each job

The cost of asbestos work depends on what the material is, how much there is, its condition, how easy it is to reach and how much waste there will be. Rather than publish a price list that won’t fit your job, we send a written quote once we know what’s involved.

What affects the price

  • Surveys: the type of survey, the size of the building, the number of samples and access to lofts, voids and outbuildings
  • Testing: the number of samples and where they are
  • Removal: the material, the amount, its condition, access, whether the job is notifiable, and the waste
  • Location and access: parking, distance and London charges
  • VAT: every quote says whether it’s included

What a quote should include

  • Exactly what’s covered: the areas, the materials and the number of samples
  • The method and the controls for removal work
  • Waste disposal and the consignment note
  • What you’ll receive afterwards: a report, results or waste paperwork
  • Anything excluded, such as making good or a new roof

Published price guides

If you want a rough idea first, our guides list price ranges published by other companies, with the source and date of each: garage roof removal, surveys and testing.

Be wary of very low prices

Proper asbestos work costs money: controls, protective equipment, a registered waste carrier and disposal at a permitted site. A price that seems too good to be true can mean corners are being cut, or the waste won’t end up where it should. Always ask for the consignment note.

Ask for a written quote

  • Survey or test first when it isn’t clear what a material is
  • Work planned to the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and HSE guidance
  • Written paperwork: reports, results and waste consignment notes
  • Asbestos waste double-bagged or wrapped and taken to a permitted site
