Our asbestos removal in HP7
Higher-risk materials such as pipe lagging, sprayed coatings and most insulating board are licensed work, and has to be done by an HSE-licensed contractor. We will explain what applies to your job in HP7. Typical jobs include Artex before plastering and asbestos found during building work, involving cement soffits, cement roof sheets and gutters and downpipes.
We start by setting up and segregating the work area, and keep the material wet as we work.
- Describe the material and send pictures
- If it hasn’t been identified, we sample it first
- We plan the job and send a written quote
- On the day we set up, keep the material damp and remove it whole where we can
- We clean up, dispose of the waste legally and send the consignment note
Cost
What you pay depends on the job itself: the materials, the amount, access and what paperwork is needed. We quote each job individually.

HP7: removal jobs of every size
Across HP7, we remove asbestos cement, textured coatings, tiles, flues and tanks, from the bigger towns to the smallest villages. Parts of HP7 are within a few miles of the Chilterns National Landscape, where barns and outbuildings with cement sheeting are a common sight.
Coleshill: In older buildings across Coleshill, asbestos may be in later additions, so we test before we plan. If you let property near Amersham station, void periods between tenants are a practical time for removal. We plan outdoor jobs in Coleshill to finish before dark: in late December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, while in June it stays light until about 9:25pm.
What we do and don’t cover
To be clear about the scope:
- Notifiable work has to be notified before it starts, which affects the start date
- Unidentified materials are tested before removal is planned
- Replacing what’s removed, such as a roof or ceiling, is usually separate
What it costs
Prices vary with:
- Licensed or non-licensed
- How much waste there is
- The quantity or area
- Access to the area
We don’t publish a price list, because jobs vary so much. Our guides list published price ranges from other companies, with sources.

Can I do it myself?
HSE’s advice to the public is not to try to repair or remove asbestos yourself. Higher-risk materials such as lagging, sprayed coatings and most insulating board must only be dealt with by an HSE-licensed contractor.
If you do find something during DIY, stop: leave the area, do not clean it up, and ask for advice.
After the job
File the waste paperwork safely: it shows the asbestos was disposed of legally.
- Plan any replacement work before the removal date
- Keep the waste paperwork safe afterwards
- Let neighbours know if work is near them
- Tell us about any previous survey
Ask any contractor how they’ll dispose of the waste.

Duty holders and landlords in HP7
If you manage or own a block in HP7, the asbestos register for common parts should be kept up to date and shared with contractors, and condition checked regularly.
Schools, halls and community buildings are non-domestic premises, so the duty to manage applies.
HP7 questions
Do you work on commercial premises?
Yes: shops, offices, industrial units and community buildings as well as homes. Non-domestic premises have a duty holder who should hold an asbestos register.
What if asbestos is found during building work?
Stop work in that area and keep people out, and the material needs identifying before work resumes.
Can you help with a flat?
Yes, of course. For shared areas, ask the managing agent about the asbestos register.
Can asbestos go in my bin?
No: asbestos waste is hazardous and can’t go in skips, bins or recycling. It has to go to a site that accepts it, with the right paperwork.
What if the weather’s bad?
It depends on the job: indoor jobs aren’t affected, but outdoor removal may be rescheduled for safety.
Do I need to move out?
Outdoor work rarely affects you indoors. Indoor work areas are kept closed off until finished.
What does removal cost?
It depends on the material, how much there is, its condition, access and disposal. We quote each job individually.
- Nothing removed blind: unknown materials are tested first
- Work planned to the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and HSE guidance
- Everything in writing: quotes, reports, results and waste notes
- Asbestos waste double-bagged or wrapped and taken to a permitted site
